  • Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

What is Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)

NET is a scientifically validated mind-body stress reduction technique that helps uncover and resolve unresolved stress patterns that can affect physical health. For body-oriented practitioners, NET is a powerful way to address the emotional or physiological components that often hold patients back from fully healing.

  • NET Stress Responses

Why NET Matters for Body-Focused Care

Even when structural issues are treated correctly, many patients still experience pain, muscle tightness, or recurring patterns. That’s often because unresolved stress is “stuck” in the body, triggering involuntary physiological responses that keep the problem alive. NET helps identify and release those stress responses so your adjustments, massage work, or rehab can hold longer and work more effectively.

  • NET Muscle Testing

    How a Session Works

During an NET session, the practitioner uses gentle muscle testing to identify when a stress response is triggered. Using a combination of focused attention, emotional points on the forehead, and gentle corrections (such as spinal adjustments or meridian points), the nervous system is guided to release the unresolved stress. The result: improved physical function, emotional clarity, and a sense of relief.

  • NET Results

    Evidence-Based Results

Clinical studies show NET can lead to:

Reduced pain and improved quality of life in chronic low-back pain patients

Measurable changes in brain activity for people with traumatic stress

    Decreased autonomic (fight-or-flight) reactivity

This research supports what many practitioners see every day — better outcomes and longer-lasting results when stress components are addressed.

Pulse Meridian Points

Understanding The Pulse
Meridian Points

In NET, we use what’s called the Law of Five Elements, a principle from traditional acupuncture that has been observed for over 1,500 years. This concept shows that specific emotions are connected to specific energy pathways (meridians)in the body.

During a session, we check gentle “pulse points” on the wrist to help identify which meridian—and which type of emotional stress—may be involved. Each pulse point is named after one of the five elements:

  • Fire – Often linked with feelings of abandonment, vulnerability, or anxiety

  • Wood – Connected to emotions like anger, frustration, or resentment

  • Water – Related to fear, dread, or feelings of being overwhelmed

  • Metal – Associated with grief, sadness, or loss

  • Earth – Tied to worry, overthinking, or hopelessness

By gently checking these points, we can quickly identify where stress may be “stuck” and guide the body toward releasing it—helping your mind and body work together for better healing.

The Eight Dynamics of NET

  • Stress isn’t just in your mind, it’s in your nervous system.

  • Stress patterns can be “conditioned” and re-triggered automatically.

  • Emotions and organ systems are linked through Chinese medicine meridians.

  • The body can replay unresolved stress until it is processed.

  • Past events can keep influencing present symptoms.

  • Used to assess the body’s response to stress.

  • Language cues can trigger stress responses.

  • Exposure to the original stress memory during correction helps release it.
